Many Faces of Our Community

Title: “Many Faces of Our Community” – Brooklyn, NY, 2013

Where: PS 24K, 427 38th Street Brooklyn, NY 11213

The 5th grade students at PS 24K discussed the theme of diversity and responsibility and how these words relate to their school. The students represent the different cultural backgrounds of the young people at PS 24K. Also, they bring up refreshing new ways to draw meaning out of the theme and represent their ideas in this mural. They consider how diversity relates to their personalities, roles in life, and interests. One of the students, Madison explained that the mural should show all types of diversity, including differences people might not expect.

There were numerous comments from the parents, teachers, and people of the community thanking us for reviving their school.
